Exploring Writing

McNair Scholars Program

Professor Jeffrey Stopple
Professor Jeffrey Stopple is a current Math Professor within the Department of Mathematics. I was given the opportunity to interview him for the Academic Community Report.
This academic program is the program Professor Stopple recommended for me. It is a rigorous program that prepares undergraduate students for grad school while exposing them to research within their field.
The Department of Mathematics includes a variety of majors. Some include : Mathematical Sciences, Actuarial Science, and Financial Mathematics.
Matlab is a technical computing and programming language that is essential for upper-division math majors. A familiarity of this application is also recommended for me.

Academic Community Report
In this report, I explored my field of study which is Mathematics. I interviewed my current calculus Professor to learn more about resources that can help me with my academic studies at UCSB. I connected this exploration with my definition of writing. To view my Report, click here.
